Popped Amaranth Treats
While on an eco tour in the Riviera Maya, Leo Salinas fell in love with a traditional treat called Alegria, made with popped amaranth and honey. Amaranth is a gluten free superfood rich in protein and nutrients. He partnered with his sister Leticia, a trained pastry chef, and the two of them are ready to share their amazing popped amaranth creations. Their company name is MaloKin, which means Good Day in Mayan.
Leo likes to stay active and loves the outdoors. As a former competitive swimmer, he is well aware of the importance of nutrition and its effect on performance. He was an Academic All American at Georgia Tech and represented his native Mexico at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Leo's favorite treat is the Sunflower Butter one, and favorite brittle is amaranth and pecan.
Leticia loves to cook and bake. She is a trained pastry chef from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After Florida she took her talents to the Cayman Islands.
Leticia's favorite popped amaranth treat is actually off the menu, and it has everything from the pantry including potato chips, pretzels, and whoppers! Yum :)
Diego's favorite Popped Amaranth treat is the Cinnamon and Nuts. He also asks for the Chocolate Treats, and likes to eat all the brittle varieties!
Diego enjoys going on adventures with daddy.
Baldemar likes to eat Popped Amaranth treats as well even though he's only a toddler. He will eat whatever mommy puts on his tray!
